Where Plan2Panel is going.

Updates ship regularly. Here is what's planned next.

Goals for the next updates

This is a direction, not a promise. There are no dates, and the order can change depending on what customers ask for.

  1. Closer to the machine

Direct G-code output for common CNC controllers, so the DXF-to-CAM step becomes optional.

  2. Bring in more models

Read native SketchUp (.skp) and STEP files.

  3. More ways to run it

A Mac version and an iPad companion are being considered. Neither is committed.

  4. More languages

Translations of the app, so more people can design in their own language.

  5. More default cabinet designs

A larger set of ready-made cabinets to start from, so common jobs take fewer steps.

  6. More styles of joinery

Additional ways to build and join cabinets, with the cut lists and part drawings following each one.

  7. A bigger library of stock furniture

More tables, beds, desks and other standard pieces to drop into a room.

  8. Lighting controls

Control the lights in a scene, so renders and the 3D view show a room the way it will look.

  9. Your list

The best ideas have come from people who actually build cabinets. Email hello@plan2panel.com with what would save you the most time.
